摘要: Climate factors affect seed biomass production which in turn influences autumn wild boar spatial behaviour. Adaptive management strategies require an understanding of both masting and its influence on the behaviour pulsed resource consumers like boar. Pulsed resources ecosystem could be strongly affected by climate. Disantangling role climate mast seeding allow to understand a consumer design proper wildlife forest strategies. We investigated relationship between climatic variables we evaluated home range dynamics. analysed as three broadleaf tree species (Fagus sylvatica L., Quercus cerris Castanea sativa Mill.) northern Apennines. Next, explored patterns finally tested effect size. Seed is partially regulated climate; high precipitation spring current year positively affects while summer previous has opposite effect. Wild size negatively correlated production, only contributes determine seeding, negative correlation should taken into account for designing integrated, proactive hunting management.
