摘要: No data exist concerning the appication of a new robotic system with 3 mm instruments (Senhance®, Transenterix) in infants and small children. Therefore, aim this study was to test for its feasibility, performance safety pediatric abdominal thoracic surgery piglets simulating body weight lower than 10 kg. 34 procedures (from explorative laparoscopy thoracoscopic esophageal repair) were performed 12 median age 23 (interquartile range: 12–28) days 6.9 (6.1–7.3) kg. The Senhance® used instruments, 10 mm 3D 0° or 30° videoscope advanced energy devices, setup consisted master console three separate arms. amount, size, position applied ports, their distance as well between operator arms robot, external internal collisions, complications recorded analyzed. We able perform all planned surgical less 7 kg. encountered two non-robot associated (bleeding from inferior caval hepatic vein) which led termination live procedures. Technical limitations reaction time speed camera movement eye tracking, excessive bending intermittent need re-calibration fulcrum point. Robotic newborn infant appears technically feasible system. Software adjustments sensitivity point calibration algorithm adjust increased compliance wall infants, therefore reducing be implemented by manufacturer result our study. To further evaluate system, prospective trials comparing it open, laparoscopic other systems are needed.
