摘要: The biology of Halobatrachus didactylus has received special attention during recent years because its use as an experimental species in toxicology and cardiology experiments. object the present work is to supply basic information about reproductive this species. Samples were collected Cadiz Bay between February 1999 March 2000. A total 901 specimens (440 females 461 males) examined. Sex ratio did not differ from theoretical 1:1, except May 1999, Minimum size at maturity was 191 mm length for 160 males. Approximately 50 % population matured 262 302 spawning season extends August, with a peak May-June. Fecundity ranged 227 1233 eggs/female, related body weight. Length-weight relationship sexes differed, showed positive allometry. condition factor minimum season, which interpreted result mobilization somatic energy reserves needed development, and/or stored source spawned fish, influenced by reduced feeding period.
