摘要: Some researchers advocate a statistical modeling approach to inference that draws on students’ intuitions about factors influencing phenomena and requires students build models. Such became possible with the creation of TinkerPlots Sampler technology. However, little is known what reasoning need acquire. Drawing building previous research, this study aims uncover develop. A design-based research methodology employing Model Eliciting Activities was used. The focus paper two 11-year-old as they engaged bag weight task using TinkerPlots. Findings indicate these seem be developing ability models, investigate posit factors, consider variation make decisions based simulated data. From analysis an initial framework proposed. Implications findings are discussed.
