摘要: Abstract A biochemical hypothesis concerning the etiology of schizophrenia is presented. This postulates presence a genetically determined lesion in disposition one-carbon units leading to elevated levels formaldehyde, i.e. hyperformaldehydism. The relationships between this and existing major hypotheses schizoprenia regarding dopamine transmethylation are discussed.
