摘要: Research concerning administrator effects and the wider field of experimenter expectancy effects (Rosenthal, 1976) has established theory that hypotheses knowledge held by an can unconsciously influence their results. Therefore, in a novel use of photographic line-up from actual police investigation, this research aims to explore the impact without memory component recalled event. Previous area used traditional paradigm test administrator effects, however clouded issue whether witness is being influenced by the or actually remembering event. This removes memory component therefore concentrates on expectancy effect administrator. In order further understanding effects, examines whether there aspect interpersonal behaviour which predisposes some individuals to be more susceptible inferences others, likely to influence individuals than others. In do Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation: Behaviour (FIRO-B) instrument utilised examine the interpersonal relationship participant. research also identifies cues emitted audio-recording interaction between participant. Using experimental design, manipulated knowledge location the target, five hundred twenty six participants were asked identify person responsible for Lockerbie bombing. Line-up administrators, who either informed of the suspect, alternative or uninformed presented with photographic line-up twelve men, one believed person responsible the Lockerbie Participants pick they thought was the suspect line-up, then completed FIRO-B questionnaire. Analysis frequency identifications suggests presence experimenter expectancy effect. A chi-square goodness fit indicates significantly more participants identified target suspect when the location target, uninformed. Analysis FIRO-B data found identifiers condition reported higher received control scores non-identifiers matched comparison group. Target also higher social interactivity and received inclusion non-identifiers. Analysis data administrators subtle differences the FIRO-B achieving high number identifications compared low identifications. particular, administrators levels of expressed lower low number transcripts line-ups indicate that administrators interacted longer, and exhibited verbal cues. Administrators obtained identification spoke to longer. Those spoke for longer expressed control.
