摘要: The concept of contrast media (CM) emerged shortly after Roentgen’s discovery. A large number radiopaque compounds were tested in vivo; these, only barium sulfate has survived to the present day, while many simple organic and inorganic soon abandoned their high toxicity became obvious. quest for a safe CM followed tortuous path which began by trial error. Later, as correlation between drug structure better understood, development proceeded working toward rational design. historical events surrounding first clinically usable urographic have been discussed an excellent review [1].
