摘要: Abstract Background Caseload midwifery is expanding in Denmark. There a need for elaborating in-depth, how caseload influences the partner and woman during childbirth this model of care early phases labour. Aim To follow, explore elaborate women’s their partner’s experiences midwifery. Methods Phenomenology practice was analytical approach. The methodology inspired by ethnography, applied methods were field observations followed interviews. Ten couples participated study. Most observed from onset labour until childbirth. Afterwards, interviewed. Findings transition home to hospital experienced as positive. During birth, felt involved included midwife. midwives remembered recognized couple’s stories wishes therefore they regarded “more than numbers”. Irrespective different kinds vulnerability or challenges among participants, relationship named professional friendship, characterised equality inclusiveness. One drawback that at risk being disappointed if her expectations having known midwife birth not fulfilled. Key conclusions From perspective women partners, attending meant recognised cared an individual. acknowledged working team with able solve problems concerning gaining access ward.
