摘要: Abstract Dendroecology is a useful tool to provide insights into the growth of woody plants and their response climate change topographical factors, since results can guidance for management artificial forests. Using dendrochronological methods, we examined relationships between slope aspect, climatic variation, radial Korshinsk peashrub ( Caragana korshinskii Kom.), primary shrub species used in afforestation arid semi-arid regions Loess Plateau, northwestern China. Mean May temperature factor that limits at all study sites, followed by September October precipitation shady sunny sites. Our surveys canopy area, height, number branches average ring width showed that, except branches, value on semi-shady slopes was larger than those slopes. No evidence soil desiccation found, best water status occurred depth from 10 60 cm within 1.8 m profile. The age-related curves indicate increased about 4 years age, declined rapidly until 8 then stabilized. suggest suitable western especially slopes, age begin branch coppicing around years. However, density should be maintained low levels (around 5000 shrubs per hectare).
