摘要: The Sunda clouded leopard Neofelis diardi is Borneo's largest predator. A study of the species' population ecology in 50 km 2 (effective sample area 145 ) Sabangau forest, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, spanned May 2008 to January 2012. total 54 camera traps at 27 stations yielded 35 129 functional trap nights resulting 90 photos 6 leopards: 5 males and 1 female. Using capture-recapture analysis 3 mo blocks, we extrapolated an esti- mated density range 0.72 4.41 ind. per 100 across all models data sets. Direct hunting pressure on cats indirect threats through possible depletion prey base by humans were assessed though interview questionnaire surveys 68 villagers 9 villages around edge 5600 Forest. Of respondents, 40% hunted deer bearded pigs, although no respondent listed as their main source income or food. low detection rates leopards suggests that a minimum site, multiple sites, should be studied elucidate impact habitat disturbance fragmentation populations.
