摘要: Field emission from isolated individual vertically aligned carbon nanocones (VACNCs) has been measured using a small-diameter moveable probe. The probe was scanned parallel to the sample plane locate VACNCs, and perpendicular measure turn-on electric field of each VACNC. Individual VACNCs can be good emitters. threshold depends on geometric aspect ratio (height/tip radius) VACNC is lowest when sharp tip present. exposed reactive ion etch process demonstrate lowered while maintaining similar ratio. have low thresholds, carry high current densities, long lifetime. This makes them very promising for various applications which deterministic placement emitter with submicron accuracy needed.
