Negative potential shifts and the prediction of the outcome of neurofeedback therapy in epilepsy

摘要: About two-thirds of epilepsy patients who learn to control their slow cortical potential shifts (SCP) reduce seizure rate, but the remaining third does not demonstrate clinical improvement. In present study, this finding was replicated in a group 27 with focal epilepsy. We found that consistently produced larger negative SCP all conditions during first phase treatment, showed no decrease frequency six-month follow-up, as compared three-month baseline phase. The large explained about one-third variance outcome. Age, medication, history, or localization focus were be unrelated
