摘要: AbstractManagement of urinary stone disease in the morbidly obese patient can be troublesome and problematic. We present 4 recent female patients with an average weight 442 pounds height 5 feet 2 inches. The underwent a total 8 open surgical or endoscopic procedures for partial complete staghorn calculi. Complications encountered included inability to reach stones rigid flexible ureteroscopes, inadvertent incision above 10th rib pyelolithotomy, intraoperative rhabdomyolysis during flank incision, consecutive temporary renal failure wound infection. discuss limitations extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, retrograde manipulation, percutaneous antegrade surgery approaches. Such continue represent diagnostic challenges high risk therapeutic options.
