The molecular basis of cardiovascular hypertrophy: the role of the renin-angiotensin system

摘要: Factors that can influence cardiovascular growth are becoming increasingly important for our understanding of such complex diseases as cardiac hypertrophy, coronary artery disease, atherosclerosis, and hypertension. Several proto-oncogenes were found to be involved in the regulation abnormal cell disease. It is also evident some peptide hormones, which well known blood pressure control, may play a role modulators. Angiotensin II one peptide. elevates through its direct vasoconstrictor, sympathomimetic, (through release aldosterone) sodium-retaining activity but appears have mitogenic actions. Interestingly, all components renin-angiotensin system locally tissues. The question remains whether angiotensin act directly factor or it does so indirectly by influencing modulating factors. A better indirect mediator hypertrophy would offer new interesting insights into pathophysiology hypertension possibly novel options treatment
