Communication Challenges During the Development and Introduction of a New Meningococcal Vaccine in Africa

摘要: Background. A new group A meningococcal conjugate vaccine was developed to eliminate deadly meningitis epidemics in sub-Saharan Africa. Methods. From the outset of project, advocacy and communication strategies were adjusted as project evolved Europe, Africa, India, United States. Communications efforts evidence-based, involved partnerships with media various stakeholders including African ministries health, World Health Organization, UNICEF, Gavi, Centers for Disease Control Prevention, Medecins Sans Frontieres. Results. The implementation an integrated strategy ensured active cooperation while providing organized defined format dissemination project-related developmental activities successful introduction vaccine. Conclusions. Early a communications that engaged potential supporters developed. The implemented adapted matured. Linked proved be key wide-scale PsA-TT (MenAfriVac) Africa.
