Auditory navigation in hyperspace: Design and evaluation of a non-visual hypermedia system for blind users

摘要: This paper presents the design and evaluation of a hypermedia system for blind users, making use nonvisual interface, non-speech sounds, three input devices, 37 node module. The important components an effective auditory interface are discussed, together with to material. evaluation, which was conducted over several weeks used range complementary objective subjective measures assess users' performance preferences, is described. findings from nine visually impaired student participants presented. results this research can be applied other non-visual systems, such as World Wide Web (WWW) browsers digital talking books.
