Day case management in adjustable suture squint surgery

摘要: Day case adjustable suture squint surgery is limited by patient cooperation in the early post-operative period. Nausea common and may be exacerbated adjustment. To facilitate adjustment, 37 consecutive patients anaesthesia was induced with propofol airway maintained a largyngeal mask. Before after adjustment recorded their level of nausea on visual analogue scale (1 = no nausea, 10 vomiting). The mean age group 31.9 years 20 men 17 women. Adjustment performed at time 4.9 hours surgery. On score 1.54 pre-adjustment 1.73 post-adjustment. Only 1 given anti-emetic. All were sufficiently alert to adjust without difficulty discharged same day. use laryngeal mask induction facilitates thus day management.
