摘要: Background: Many tobacco control policies have been implemented to reduce use throughout the world including Thailand. This study made of surveillance data past two decades examine age-period-cohort effects on smoking in Methods: Six nationally representative datasets collected during 1991-2007 were used determine prevalence current smoking, former and never smoking. Effects current, former, examined using analysis. Results: Overall consumption Thailand has substantially decreased decades. However, a sluggish decline trend observed last decade. Age-period-cohort models showed significant all three these component factors with exception an age effect only females. Age-specific successive birth cohorts increased towards 27 years males then fell while cessation tended increase age. Newer smoke less but likely quit than those earlier cohorts. Conclusions: Although newer had susceptibility smokers lower odds cessation. Effective methods should be promoted.
