Below-Knee Amputation for Ischaemic Gangrene: Prospective, Randomized Comparison of a Transverse and a Sagittal Operative Technique

摘要: In a prospective, randomized study comparison was made of the results primary below-knee amputation for ischaemic gangrene carried out by two methods: in 47 cases transverse technique with long posterior musculo-cutaneous flap and 41 sagittal using equally large medial lateral flaps-in both instances followed 2 weeks half-open plaster cast extended knee. The sex ratio age distribution were same groups. Minor differences vascular condition between groups, assessed duration rest pain, pulsation findings, extent gangrene, frequency diabetes, wholly or partially equalized each other. course healing being attained 38 per cent cent, respectively (0.70 < P 0.80).
