摘要: ABSTRAC Background: The genus Clostridium includes a group of Gram-positive, anaerobic bacteria which producing endospores and produce toxins when encounter conditions favorable to their development. These can be produced absorbed in the intestinal lumen, as occurs cases enterotoxemia (Clostridium perfringens), or are areas tissue necrosis after bacterial infections, seen tetanus (C. tetani), blackleg chauvoei) bacillary hemoglobinuria haemolyticum), infections by C. chauvoei, novyi septicum frequently associated with malignant edema. aim this research was relates epidemiological clinicopathological aspects clostridiosis observed region infl uence Setor de Patologia Veterinaria Universidade Federal do Rio Grande Sul. Materials, Methods & Results: necropsy records were reviewed from January 1996 December 2011 identify that diagnosed. In period, 4.689 necropsies performed (SPV-UFRGS). A total 135 (2.88%) clostridiosis. most prevalent included (48.15%) horses, cattle, sheep goats; botulism (17.04%) cattle (22.96%) goats. Additional diseases (5.93%) necrotic myositis/malignant edema horses both 4 each (2.96%). Discussion: Tetanus, enterotoxemia, clostrodiosis diagnosed at SPV-UFRGS together accounted for approximately 90% period 1996-2011. As blackleg, hemoglobinuria, edema, they represented slightly less than 10% clostridioses period. signifi cant studied tetanus, affecting sheep, horses. There large number distributed over many years; probably occurrence these species’ (sheep horse) greater sensitivity toxin. various outbreaks only two years, death animals contamination anthelmintic bottles tetani spores. Botulism is an important bovines. all botulism, concentrated hottest periods year: summer, late spring, early fall, stated previous reports botulism. Cases Outbreaks attributed excessive consumption feed, disease affected vaccinated unvaccinated goats alike. Blackleg apparently area SPV-UFRGS, contrary what previously repots, it considered It possible prompt recognition veterinarians fi eld reduced frequency requests diagnostic services. frequent occurred cattle; respectively. All showed presence livestock necropsies, but three (tetanus goats) elevated animals.
