摘要: While excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UVR) is a significant cause of disease burden in Australia and the Western Pacific region, there are well documented beneficial as adverse effects UVR exposure. Ambient levels do not translate directly personal dose thus biological effect - each person's sun-exposure behaviour pigmentation also play role. Exposure childhood may be more important than adulthood for both effects. Stratospheric ozone depletion increases ambient UVB wavelength, possibly most wavelength deleterious health There ongoing research examining on immune function, including an examination possible role lack aetiology multiple sclerosis type 1 diabetes mellitus.
