摘要: This study examined whether adolescents’ time spent on sedentary behaviors (academic, technological-based and social-based activities) was a better predictor of academic performance than the reverse. A cohort 755 adolescents participated in three-year period study. Structural Equation Modeling techniques were used to test plausible causal hypotheses. Four competing models analyzed determine which model best fitted data. The Best Model separately tested by gender. showed that other way round. It also indicated students who obtained excellent results more likely succeed academically three years later. Moreover, different types engage longer those after period. performed academically, less they devoted activities activities. An inverse relationship emerged between dedicated moderating auto-regressive effect gender boys spend later girls. To conclude, previous predicts positive longitudinal effects four variables under reinforce ‘success breeds success’ hypothesis, with emerging as strongest ones. Technological-based negative association supports displacement hypothesis. Other covariate reflect complex relationships among need explore these depth. Theoretical practical implications for school health are outlined.
