摘要: ABSTRACTField-based studies can place constraints on the shape of granite intrusions with results being complementary to less direct approach using geophysics. The Tallarook plateau in central Victoria provides necessary outcrop and topographic relief allow mapping outer boundary detail, infer a thin sheet-like form for an intrusion that was previously interpreted as vertically extensive cylindrical body. against hornfels is box-shaped plan sides 5–10 km length. These are quite irregular scale 100s metres many near-vertical near-horizontal intervals define step-and-stair geometry. There also moderate outward dip, fewer inward-dipping intervals.
