摘要: The Strathbogie Igneous Complex is comprised of the ignimbritic rocks Violet Town Volcanics and granitic batholith. It Late Devonian in age postorogenic-extensional tectonic setting. batholith was constructed from peraluminous, metasediment-derived magmas emplaced as several internally heterogeneous plutons. Chemical variation largely inherited protolith rather than having been produced by differentiation (crystal–liquid separation) or magma mixing. formed during a granulite-facies metamorphic event that caused partial melting Proterozoic Selwyn Block, which forms basement this region. chemistry batholith, various other felsic complexes similar age, implies Block here originally consisted andesite, dacite, greywacke pelite, probably deposited back-arc extensional sedimentary components may have basin extending deepening with time, so sediments contained progressively higher ratios clay to volcanic materials. Much later, Devonian, tectonics allowed emplacement mantle into deep middle crust, causing low-pressure responsible for production crustal Central Victoria.
