摘要: The current majority position among morphologists regards Tarsius and Anthropoidea as sister taxa. This grouping, suborder Haplorhini, is supported by shared derived characters of the orbit, retina, placenta (Luckett, 1982) basicranium (MacPhee Cartmill, 1986) in addition to nasal morphology from which clade takes its name. Tarsius’s highly body plan complicates interpretation tarsier-anthropoid similarities, however, leading other reject them nonhomologous consequences tarsier specializations. Schwartz Tattersall (1987) propose a tarsier-lorisiform lieu one; Simons Rasmussen (1989) regard most salient correspondences cranial anatomy convergent.
