摘要: Summary An animal experiment has been performed with 42 veal calves, 21 males and females, which were fed housed according to European regulations for calves. The animals kept in six groups of seven milk replacer supplemented three different levels lactulose (0%, 1% 3%) some roughage. At the start 1–3 weeks age they slaughtered at 26 weeks. From male prostate, bulbo-urethal gland testes sampled, from female Bartholin’s gland, uterus, cervix ovaries sampled. all thyroid, thymus, adrenals, liver kidneys Histological investigation prostates bulbourethral glands showed normal histology. This means that dilated tubules, strong secretion, increased mucinous glandular tissue severe hyperplasia squamous metaplasia, as is regularly observed practice Netherlands, not present these animals. None would be judged positive screening hormones by Dutch Food Consumer Product Safety Authority (VWA). calves also histology except appeared oestrus metaplasie ducts but a duct ratio. These suspect. kidney minor alterations due slight infections during experimental period. it possible raise without getting prostate or gland.
