摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the regulation of translation by poliovirus. It emphasizes recent developments—especially with regard to function cap binding proteins—in initiation and their modification following poliovirus infection. There is currently a general agreement about mechanism which infection effects cessation host protein synthesis. Consequently, work that led model for shutoff, best fits available data—that is, an essential activity cellular mRNAs, but somehow not required translation, inactivated The discussion also deals possible viral mediators shutoff phenomenon. Several alternative models proposed explain phenomenon are evaluated respect likelihood being applicable
