摘要: In modern orthognathic surgery, the functional results cannot disregard a good aesthetic outcome. this study, stereophotogrammetric longitudinal analysis of symmetry facial thirds was performed in 18 patients affected by Class III skeletal malocclusion, with clinical asymmetry, treated bimaxillary osteotomy. Their 3-dimensional images were acquired preoperative phase and 6, 12, 24 months after compared to those obtained control group 23 subjects I occlusion, without asymmetry no history traumas or alterations at maxillo-facial area. Images hemi-faces divided into (upper, middle, lower), mirrored superimposed their contralateral ones; soft-tissue as root mean square distance between three thirds. In patients, significant differences (root distance) found among study time points (analysis variance, P > 0.05); lower third more asymmetric than upper one (Tukey honestly difference < 0.05). Patients significantly (Student t, conclusion, malocclusion exhibited higher level subjects; did not change different phases surgical orthodontic treatment throughout 24-month follow-up. osteotomy modify any third.
