摘要: Nanocrystalline cerium oxide ceramics of high homogeneity and nearly full density were prepared. The starting material was synthesized by the direct homogeneous precipitation method using hexamethylenetetramine (HMT). Two alternative routes for consolidation into green bodies employed: (i) centrifugal casting an electrostatically stabilized colloidal solution (ii) cold isostatic pressing dried ceria powder. sintered at temperatures between 700 1000°C. sinter activities both nanocrystalline materials strongly enhanced if compared to microcrystalline ceria. Green bodies, which generated processing exhibited highest activities, associated with a unique pore structure. effect yttrium doping on grain size after sintering also investigated. combination allowed synthesis dense pressureless sintering.
