Improved production of bioactive valepotriates in whole-plant liquid cultures of Valeriana glechomifolia

摘要: a b s t r c Valeriana glechomifolia produces bioactive valepotriates in all of its organs and further understanding on the regulation these metabolites accumulation is needed for obtaining improved yields natural products. This study was undertaken to evaluate role elicitation treatments growth secondary metabolism (valepotriates total phenolics) V. whole plants culti- vated liquid medium. Exposure salicylic acid or ultrasound approximately doubled valepotriate accumulation. Ultrasound exposure promoted yield without affecting treatment durations culture ages tested, whereas caused inhibition time dose dependent fashion. In contrast, were not able cause significant changes content phenolics, suggesting that only certain branches affected. Improved reduction plant can be achieved with brief (from 2.5 up 5 min).
