摘要: Dendrochronological investigations in Tasmania indicate that living individuals of the two principal species genus Athrotaxis, Pencil Pine (A. cupressoides) and King Billy selaginoides), will provide chronologies c. 1000 years. Older dead wood has also been collected. In crossdating established between stands close to timberline all areas investigated, covering most range species, with some sites over 100 km apart. regional climatic signal is more difficult detect, due low frequency growth trends general complacency associated temperate montane rain forest habitat this species. such oldest trees show clearest crossdating. The first account distribution population ecology presented.
