摘要: Maize plants carrying Texas (T) cytoplasm are male-sterile and sensitive to Drechslera maydis race T toxin, whereas Normal (N) male-fertile resistant the toxin. Some regenerated from tissue cultures exhibit a N cytoplasm-like phenotype with respect malefertility toxin-resistance. Analysis of high molecular weight mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) such regenerants has shown that do not contain mtDNA. However, their mtDNAs show sequence differences each other mtDNA possessing cytoplasm. No single alteration detected correlates change or toxin resistance. Sequence alterations were also evident in isolated plant callus. changes low molecules observed
