摘要: Despite the resurgence of immigration in United States and a renewed scholarly interest effects social context, psychologists have not sufficiently explored joint relationships between acculturation neighborhood ethnic composition as influences on immigrants'self-esteem. Using sample adult Chinese immigrants, I examine English language use, cultural participation, self-esteem. Immigrants who primarily use higher self-esteem than those Chinese. In contrast, neither participation nor is related significantly to Neighborhood co-ethnicity, however, has significant moderating effects: most positively predominantly non-Chinese neighborhoods, only neighborhoods. discuss these conditional light their implications for theory, research, research identity. The results demonstrate how concept context may help bridge disparate areas.
