摘要: Abstract The location of the magnetospheric plasmapause or ‘knee’ and position electron density minimum ‘trough’ at orbit Alouette I satellite near 1000 km have been derived from whistler data topside ionograms respectively. A statistical study dependence both knee trough positions on degree magnetic disturbance local time during Summer 1963 reveals that, in general, within scatter, geomagnetic field lines which each occur are same. During night, equatorial radial distance to centre is described by relation: Rp = 5.64 − (0.78 ± 0.12) √Kp Earth radii, whereas line through best equation: LT (1.09 0.22) √Kp. It inferred that magnetosphere exospheric base related phenomena, a sharp decrease plasma occurs beyond particular line, depends activity. For magnetically quiet conditions (Kp 0), this force corresponds L≅ 5.6 midnight, for moderate activity 3) its L value approximately 4. crosses plane decreases rate 0.1 radii/hr throughout night. latitude concerned reaches an altitude 57° 02.00 Kp≅ 3, 1.8° 0.4° per unit increase Kp.
