摘要: Background/aims: To determine if disease severity is associated with a family history of keratoconus. Methods: Markers in the CLEK Study cohort were assessed to they could discriminate individuals and without history. Logistic regression was used examine association between corneal scarring, average power, flat steep keratometry readings, higher-order root mean square (RMS) wavefront error Results: In univariate analyses, none indices had any significant associations history; however, contact lens use, gender, Caucasian race found be predictors. After controlling for these confounders, there no Conclusions: Presence or absence not more severe clinical disease, at least when each marker considered independently. The results this analysis are important genetic studies keratoconus that it will allow recruitment patients across all stages because does influence familial aggregation.
