摘要: Although tandem mass spectrometry has revolutionized the identification and structural characterization of peptides proteins, future advances in comprehensive proteome analysis will depend on development improved methods for ion activation that yield greater sequence information, with selective control over fragmentation chemistry. This report presents initial findings demonstrate utility a novel method using ultrashort (∼30 fs) laser pulses as means to overcome limitations current technologies, while opening door solving significant challenges protein peptide analysis.
