摘要: A new, lightweight balloon-borne instrument (DESCARTES) has been developed to make measurements of long-lived trace gases in the stratosphere. DESCARTES is designed be simple operate and fly on small balloons or “piggyback” larger payloads. To collect samples, a measured volume air passed through sample tube containing Carboxen adsorbent. Atmospheric halocarbons are adsorbed then isolated under an inert nitrogen atmosphere. number tubes filled at different altitudes during flight. After recovery thermally desorbed quantified using gas chromatograph with electron capture detector. In this article we present design, test, operation particular emphasis CFC-11 (CFCl3), for which optimized.
