摘要: Abstract Total body electrical conductance (TOBEC) has been recommended for serial measurements of composition in animals and humans. This study examined the accuracy TOBEC technique predicting a population adult male rats that had undergone seven different treatments, including adrenalectomy blocking glucocorticoid receptors, etiology obesity. The predicted values (n = 57, weight 550 ± 8 g) obtained by using manufacturer's Baer's equations were compared to actual direct carcass analysis. Both underestimated lean mass reciprocally overestimated fat (manufacturer's 103 4 g, 55 3 g). A new prediction equation was developed based on conductivity index mass. revised able accurately estimate used same experiment but overe-stimated larger 10, wt. 647 13 Conclusions multiple comparisons (Duncan's) resulted effects treatments composition. To improve reliability technique, should be from as studied population, experimental group sizes examining treatment relatively large.
