摘要: Evaluation of tissue engineering constructs is performed by a series different tests. In many cases it important to match the mechanical properties these those native tissues. However, testing methods are destructive in nature which increases cost for evaluation because need additional samples reserved assessments. A wave propagation method proposed characterizing shear elasticity thin layers bounded rigid substrate and fluid-loading, similar configuration applications. An analytic model was derived this compared against finite element simulations numerical solutions from software package Disperse. The results models found very good agreement. Experiments were tissue-mimicking gelatin phantoms with thicknesses 1 4 mm that could resolve modulus accuracy, no more than 4.10% error. This be used applications monitor construct maturation nondestructive evaluate material.
