摘要: Ground beetle assemblages were monitored at four tallgrass prairie sites burned on 3-year cycles in northeastern Iowa. The objectives of this study to quantify differences carabid communities between original and reconstructed prairies, determine the responses ground beetles early spring fire commonly used manage prairies. Using pitfall traps, two prairies compared 1994 1998, where sampled annually (0-, 1-, 2-year post-fire conditions) from plots every 3 years. When burned, greatest abundance, activity density, species richness occurred year immediately following a burn, with abundance declining steadily increased time since burning. Overall diversity as determined by Shannon's index was several years after fire. Some found only while others primarily prairie. Similarly, some more abundant greater NMS ordination indicator analysis clearly show but did not among burn treatments.
