摘要: A characteristic peculiarity of the trigeminal sensory system is presence two distinct populations primary afferent neurons. Most their cell bodies are located in ganglion (TG) but part them lie mesencephalic nucleus (MTN). This review compares neurochemical content central versus peripheral In TG, subpopulations neurons, containing immunoreactive (IR) material, identified: a number glutamate (Glu)-, substance P (SP)-, neurokinin (NKA)-, calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP)-, cholecystokinin (CCK)-, somatostatin (SOM)-, vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP)- and galanin (GAL)-IR cells with small medium-sized somata, relatively less numerous larger-sized neuropeptide Y (NPY)- 19 (PEP 19)-IR addition, many nitric oxide synthase (NOS)- parvalbumin (PV)-IR all sizes as well fewer, mostly large, calbindin D-28k (CB)-containing neurons seen. The majority large surrounded by SP-, CGRP-, SOM-, CCK-, VIP-, NOS- serotonin (SER)-IR perisomatic networks. MTN, main subpopulation large-sized display Glu-immunoreactivity. Additionally, MTN exhibit PV- CB-immunostaining. On other hand, certain most likely interneurons, found to be GABAergic. Furthermore, NOS-containing can detected caudal mesencephalic-pontine junction portions nucleus. Conversely, no immunoreactivity any examined neuropeptides observed these encircled peptidergic, catecholaminergic, serotonergic nitrergic perineuronal arborizations basket-like manner. Such discrepancy features suggests that differently fated embryonic migration, synaptogenesis, target field innervation possibly affect individual phenotypes
