摘要: Objective: Data published from the United States have demonstrated that use of cervical cerclage has fallen in period 1998–2013. This is contrast to recommendations Australia. We examined this trend using data Australian Institute Health and Welfare (AIHW). Study design: Retrospective population-based study. Methods: procedural database were used determine total number sutures inserted during 2004 2013. Population datasets calculate age-stratified incidence rates cerclage. Findings: There was a significant increase rate women aged 25 34 years 35 older age group. The preterm birth stable for gestations 32 36 weeks, but slightly increased 20 27 week 28 31 gestational groups. Further research into vaginal progesterone prevention would be valuable.
