摘要: Network simulation models for water distribution systems typically assume the mixing at pipe intersections is complete and instantaneous. More accurate characterizations of chemical or biological agent transport may be required to efficiently identify, control mitigate spread harmful agents protect critical components within network. Recent experimental data have shown that incomplete junctions (pipe crosses tees). Numerical simulations these experiments been performed using simplified turbulence methods. In present study, in are high-fidelity Large Eddy Simulation (LES) approach fully resolve behavior. results show unsteady behavior fluid interface due shear layer instabilities. These highfidelity will used develop a lower fidelity model junctions.
