摘要: We report high precision, cadence photometric measurements of the star HD 209458, which is known from radial velocity to have a planetary mass companion in close orbit. detect two separate transit events at times that are consistent with measurements. In both cases, detailed shape curve due limb darkening and finite size planet clearly evident. Assuming stellar parameters 1.1 R_Sun M_Sun, we find data best interpreted as gas giant radius 1.27 +/- 0.02 R_Jup an orbit inclination 87.1 0.2 degrees. present values for surface gravity, escape velocity, average density, discuss numerous observations warranted now disk its parent star.
