摘要: Chlamydomonas reinhardtii is a model system for studying cilia, photosynthesis, and other core features of eukaryotes, also an emerging source biofuels. Despite its importance to basic applied biological research, the level pattern genetic variation in this haploid green alga has yet be characterized on genome-wide scale. To improve understanding C. reinhardtii's variability, we generated low coverage whole genome resequencing data nearly all available isolates species, which were sampled from number sites North America over past ∼70 years. Based analysis more than 62,000 single nucleotide polymorphisms, identified two groups that represent geographical subpopulations species. We found measurements diversity highly variable throughout genome, part due technical factors. studied linkage disequilibrium (LD), observed one chromosome exhibits elevated LD. Furthermore, detected widespread evidence recombination across implies outcrossing occurs natural populations In summary, our study provides multiple insights into sequence will useful future studies organism.
