摘要: Synovial plicae are vestigial folds of synovium in a joint, most widely recognized the knee and also elbow hip joints. The commonly shared theory on origin is that they remnants membranes divide synovial cavitations during normal joint development. do not generally cause any symptoms. However, can become inflamed, thickened, fibrosed, impinged leading to mechanical symptoms chondral damage. This article presents an overview embryological plicae, their anatomy, pathologies, appearances imaging. We discuss lesser known various other areas.
