Study of non-hydrogenic near degeneracies between m sublevels in the linear Stark effect of sodium Rydberg states

摘要: The authors have studied the linear Stark effect of sodium Rydberg states by subDoppler high resolution spectroscopy using a continuous stepwise excitation atoms (3S to 3P 3D nF) with help CW dye laser and two single-mode diode lasers. They shown quasidegeneracy m=0, mod m =1 =2 states, revealing an unexpected non-hydrogenic behaviour in this regime. A simple model, based on 'truncated basis' approach accounts for feature, which is common all alkali atom states.
