摘要: The major cause of exercise-induced asthma (EIA) is thought to be the drying and cooling airways during 'conditioning' inspired air. Nasal breathing increases respiratory system's ability warm humidity air compared oral reduces effects increased ventilation exercise. This will reduce severity EIA provoked by a given intensity duration purpose study was determine exercise (%VO2 max) at which healthy subjects, free from disease, could perform while through nose-only compare this with mouth-only mouth plus nose breathing. Twenty subjects (11 males 9 females) ranging 18-55 years acted as in study. They were all non-smokers non-asthmatic. At time study, involved regular physical activity classified, physician, nasal polyps or other obstruction. percentage decrease maximal three times oxygen consumption. pattern work showed small reduction tidal volume large frequency. resulted FEO2 an increase FECO2. While nose-only, attain great enough produce aerobic training effect (based on heart rate VO2 max).
