摘要: Background and purpose To investigate factors that might affect the sputum conversion treatment outcome of Mycobacterium avium-intracellulare complex (MAC) pulmonary disease. Methods This retrospective study reviewed 46 patients diagnosed with MAC disease at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Linkou between July 1998 February 2005. The diagnosis was based on American Thoracic Society criteria for due to non-tuberculous mycobacteria 1997. Results Of reviewed, 30 were men 16 women, a mean age 64.39 years (range, 28-87 years). Thirty one had preexisting lung diseases, including history tuberculosis in 23 patients. Follow-up cultures could be traced 28 patients, found 17 9 treated anti-MAC drugs 5 months. However, there no statistically significant association clarithromycin-containing regimens (OR, 0.42; 95% CI, 0.08-2.16; p=0.435). Conclusions often occurs context disease, especially tuberculosis. Patients tend older. Inappropriate lead failure conversion. Treatment rational combination least months necessary
