摘要: Tail-anchored (TA) proteins function in key cellular processes eukaryotic cells, such as vesicle trafficking, protein translocation and regulation of transcription. They anchor to internal cell membranes by a C-terminal transmembrane domain, which also serves targeting sequence. Targeting occurs post-translationally, via pathways that are specific the precursor, makes TA model system for investigating post-translational targeting. Bioinformatics approaches have previously been used identify potential yeast humans, yet little is known about plants. The identification plant important extending plastids, addition general proteome characterization, functional homologues characterized other organisms. We identified 454 loci potentially encode Arabidopsis, combined published data with new localization experiments assign localizations 130 proteins, including 29 associated plastids. By analysing tail sequences we developed tool predicting estimate 138 localized
